Q: Where is Montreal?
A: Well, Montreal is one of the three major metropolises in Canada. Located north of the state of New York, it is a city built on an Island.
It embodies the Mediterranean culture, and behaviors. Don't be surprised if someone Euro Kisses you. ;)
Q: What will the weather be like in August, cold?
A: No, and the illusion that snow is around all year is false. With humidity, you can expect it to be anywhere from 25-35 degrees
Celsius (or about 80-90 Fahrenheit).
Q: I don't speak French! Will I be okay?
A: Absolutely! After scouting the local area, all major businesses, restaurants, and general services are functionally
bilingual. Upon the chance you do not stumble upon someone who speaks English, they will find someone in the store who does (which is a very rare
occurence). When all else fails, call the con *smile*
Q: How much will I get for X$ American?
A: A good rule of thumb is to add 17%, to be safe. The rate is currently (as of Jan 25th, 2007) 1.00 USD = 1.17 CAD. And best yet, most
items on sale are somewhat equalised with American prices, so no paying $1.17 for things at a dollar store. ;)
Q: What will be there to do in Montreal, outside the convention?
A: Well, during the visit, there will be the Diver/Cité GLBT pride Parade in Downtown Montreal. Montrealers from all walks of life go
to attend the parade, and it's colourful attractions. Also, depending on how weather and attractions permit, the Jazz Festival comes to a near-close by the
end of July, early August. We will have more information available in the section "Guest Information".
Q: There's a question I have you didn't answer...
A: That's fine, send it to info@anthrofest.org
